Are my floors scratch resistant?

Scratch Resistant Polyaspartic Coatings

Does Polyaspartic coating scratch easily?

Polyaspartic floors are exceptionally scratch resistant. While these coatings can scratch, they are one of the most resilient garage floor coatings in the industry. Epoxy will scratch much easier than polyaspartic. The texture that the chip flake provides helps the floor become more scratch resistant than a smooth floor.

How Scratch Resistant are Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coatings?

If an object is being slid across the floor, it will skip across the top of the flake ridges to prevent scratches. The key is to avoid dragging sharp things across the floor. At trade shows, they take a 5 foot pipe wrench and grind it across the floor to show how durable they are. They are super tough!

Durable Floor Polyaspartic (Epoxy) Coating

What happens if I drop something on Polyaspartic coating and it chips the durable floor?

If you drop something, most likely it won’t chip the floor unless it’s dense and has a sharp edge. If something happens to the floor, know that we can repair small damages without redoing the entire floor.

Custom Coating Floor Grinding

Is an Acid Wash or Floor Grinding best for a Floor Coating?

Grinding the floor with diamonds is the best way to prep a floor for a long term coating. Grinding the floor creates the best adhesion surface by stripping any cure, sealant, or stains that can cause the coating to delaminate over time. Grinding also creates micro ridges in the concrete for the product to grab on to. We use top of the line diamond grinders to minimize the dust and make the process quick so you can get back to your garage space as soon as possible.
